Event Description:
Join fellow Wild Ones chapter members for a late summer nature walk at Nature Forward, a 40-acre site undergoing long-term ecological restoration. We’ll take a leisurely, informal walk through the meadows, forested areas, and native plant gardens—observing seasonal blooms, habitat features, and restoration progress in action.
This is part of our ongoing Wild Ones Nation’s Capital Chapter nature walk series. Each event is coordinated but not formally led—designed to be relaxed, social, and engaging for native plant enthusiasts of all experience levels.
We expect to see a variety of pollinator-friendly plants in bloom and can discuss Nature Forward’s approach to reforestation, invasive removal, and stormwater management—featured in their Restoration Guide.
Please dress for the weather, bring water, and wear comfortable walking shoes.
The mansion will be closed, but composting toilets at the eastern trailhead will be available.
This is a members-only event. If you’d like to attend as a guest, please contact us.
